Winter tires and TPMS?
I am looking to get snows for my FX4 and would like to know what sensors will work with my truck. Will sensors from an 09-12 work on a 13?
Thanks
Thanks

Yes but you could just swap your stock sensors back and forth as opposed to buying a new set.
Buying a new set would be cheaper in the long run. Swapping them back and forth would be cheap at first but after a couple of seasons you will have spent enough to just buy new sensors.
If you live near a discount tire we carry the sensors at $70 a piece. eBay is another good way to go for used but you are taking a risk that they don't work or the battery might go out on you a few days later.

Thanks for the replies!
I live in Ontario Canada and we can get a lot of snow but the main reason for the extra set of snow tires is for the sleet, slush and ice. I ordered my truck with 20" rims knowing that they would suck in the winter but I always put snows on all of my vehicles therefore I wasn't concerned about winter performance. The amount of salt and sand put on our roads also causes premature wear of nice rims. A 4x4 won't stop any faster than a 2wd on snow or ice, this is where my concern is! I'm not worried about getting stuck! The braking performance of a winter tire in winter conditions is way better than any all season tire. In the Province of Quebec it is mandatory to have snow tires on during winter!

There is simply no comparison between a snow tires performance and an all season. Around here the guys with the 4wd who think they don't need winter tires are usually the ones who need to be pulled out of the ditch.

gmcfan i lived in Anchorage for 7 years never put on chains and only ditched it a couple times, now living in Reno Nevada discovered snow tires are worth the investment. Like the time i was going to watch the Aces, and car in front stoped sooner than i could. Tires are cheap 1k.

Here in BC Canada snow tires are mandatory over most of the highway passes. The softer rubber compound in snow tires maintain their elasticiy up to -35C for superior grip and stopping performance. They DO make a difference.

just deal with tpms light on, if you store your oe tires close it will cause the light to go out when you park. i have to drive about 20 miles for lite to come back on after leaving my garage with the stored oe tires and rims. i don't need a lite to tell me my tires are low or flat.
