Default Winter Prep for the FX4!

It's been decently nice in the daytime the last couple of days here (50's) and dry so I decided to lay down some protection for the winter on it.

Duragloss 501 RV Polish and Cleaner w/ Duragloss 601 Polish Bonding Agent mixed @ a 4:1 ratio (2oz 501, .5 oz PBA), on a Flex 3401 polisher with a white foam 5.5" LC pad. This was the cleaning step as the 501 has some really good cleaners in it.

I then followed with Duragloss 105 Total Performance Polish and the PBA again, also @ 4:1 ratio (saves time and an application step) with a blue finishing pad on a Griot's Garage DA polisher.

Finally after 12 hours between the first 2, then hit it with Duragloss Aquawax spray wax for the last step. Dressed the tires with Duragloss 253 I think, Rubber dressing. Cleaned the windows with Sprayway aerosol foam.

Any questions please feel free to ask, I think it turned out nicely.

The ecoboost emblems are coming off this weekend and being replaced with the Lincoln MKS little black ones under the front fender 'F-150' badges. I still want to get some 275/65/20 tires very soon though.

Here is a sample, I'll post more in a couple of hours!

Hmm.. what's this in this box? Maybe in a week or two..

Thanks for looking!

Thank you Sir! After these pics I spent about 30 minutes with the vacuum and my daughter helped me clean inside.

Default Mini-Ecobost Badge from MKS?

DamnDirtyApe,

Do you have the part number for the MKS badge?....or could you let me know where you got it?

It'll be perfect on the black/white 2013 Stormtrooper Edition FX4!

Also: The 2013 grille insert you have....it looks like it has a matte black finish...is that right or is it just the picture?

The gloss black one on my 2013 is the ONLY gloss black part on the whole truck...and it needs to be matte or flat black.

Same request on the part number for the grille insert (if it is matte black).

Thanks...and the truck looks terrific.

Looks great DDA.
Prepping my truck for winter was much easier for me. All I did for prep was hook up the battery tender so it doesn't die while the truck sits in my garage all winter.

$271, incl. surround, insert, metal bar, clips, everything. Appearance pkg grille was almost $500.

One thing I found is that the 13 insert will NOT pop into the surround for an '11. Different clip-in locations, glad it came with the surround and all the hardware, just have to get the surround painted as it came PTM.

Thanks, yours is looking awesome as well! I have the package right here for the badge in question: AA5Z-7842528-B

The grille insert is a fine pebble-grain finish and it is a matte finish. The AP gloss grill was a deal more. It came as a complete package, just PTM of the surround. All hardware as needed.

Hope this helps.
