Windshield wiper won't shut off
#21
Damn it!
My 2013 has the symptom. This weekend I was driving offroad raining, when I took the road and stop the rain I shut off but it continued running on the slowest speed. I moved, jiggled ,etc and suddenly continued running, but on the SECOND speed.
After like one hour it just stopped . I used it later with no problem
This afternoon I took it to clean all the dirt, wiper to clean the windshield and the problem came back again.

Note that some have rain sensing features and so forth
there are plenty of helpful videos on you tube explaining how to do it if you are willing to suffer through all the drama

I will order later at Rockauto or at a junkYard
BTW moving it to the top (fastest speed) and back again to off seems to be working... so far

Does anyone have the part number for this Multifunction Switch? I want to make sure I'm getting an OEM part. My 2011 Ford F150 is doing the exact same thing. I was able to wrestle with the switch and get them to turn off but I'm afraid if I turn them on, I won't be able to get them off again. Sorry if I missed it, I'm new to posting here and this is actually my first post.

Sounds like you either got a bad switch or got the wrong switch. Some F-150s have a switch that you PULL to engage the high beams, others have a PUSH to engage the high beams. Make sure you got the right switch.

My 2014 did this earlier in the week.
How do we know if we have the auto sensing wipers or not?
Mine seemed to come on automatically and i had some ice/snow on the windshield, so i'm thinking mine has the auto feature. Once the sun came out for a day it seemed to go back to normal.
Thanks

Windshield wipers won't turn off
I've experienced this with my 2018 Ford F150 Platinum. I had planned to replace the blinker switch assembly. Before I could do it, I got aggravated with the wipers while on a business trip. I stopped and pulled the fuse for my wiper motor. I use Rain-X so I don't really use them too often. When the fuse was re-installed, the wipers began working properly again. This worked for about six months. Recently, it happened again. I removed the fuse again. I also had to disconnect the battery for a moment. When I re-installed the fuse, the wipers started working correctly again. I don't know how long this will last. If it keeps doing this, I'll go ahead and try replacing the blinker switch. It does appear that this can be a short-term fix anyway.
