Default Windshield replacement probl

Just had my windshield replaced a few days ago and let’s just say it was not a good experience. After back and fourth they finally replaced my windshield wipers and the clips that hold the cowling down.

Now my issue is my dash rattles aginst the windshield. I have noticed the dash is actually touching the windshield the the left of the driver side defrost vent and to the right of the passenger side defrost vent. Can anyone verify for me that contact is suppose to be made here. That is where the vibration is rattling is coming from, and maybe he didn’t use enough “gasket material.”

My wife had to get her windshield replaced on her escape. Thank goodness in Kentucky it’s covered by the state once a year.

Anyways, when hers got replaced, they put little styrofoam looking pieces in the lower left and right of the dash where it meets the windshield. Sounds like generally the same places your saying seem to be touching.

I had my windshield replaced a couple years ago. I have the little strips on mine too. One on each side. I wondered what those were for.

Those foam strips are factory? I never noticed them if they are.

Contact whoever replaced it and ask them for help. Maybe you can add foam or the hook side of velcro to stop the vibration?

Allstate uses a company called ideal auto glass, they have 5 star reviews.

My my concern is they didn’t use enough gasket material makin the window come closer to the dash and also possibly creating a leak, but it sounds as if the foam strips might be used on some trucks. Enough people that have had a replacement haven’t chimed in to confirm this.

I will be calling them today and finding out
