i have heard of windows cracking in cold temps when the defrost is blasting hot air. Now, that would be really cold temps. It wouldn't matter how old the truck is for that to happen.
if there is no damage, is it possible it's a pressure crack?

when i still had my car, i had a brand new windshield put in and 50 km later it cracked when i turned on the defrost, i traced to crack back to a real small rock chip, it does not take long and really has nothing to due with distance other than probability of a rock chip increases with distance traveled. I have been lucky with mine and have 35,000 km on my 13 with no cracks, i get all chips repaired as soon as possible

Anyone know if you replace an OEM windshield on a 2009+ if you have "Soundscreen" does the new glass come with that too? Also I would hate to lose the really awesome "F-150" in the dot matrix at the top.
My windshield isn't cracked or chipped yet, just getting an idea if it happened.

As Azuri said in 13 they went to Ford instead of f-150 above the mirror...

I just had a cracked windshield replaced under warranty. I had to go to the dealer three times for differant tests to make sure it was not caused by a rock, etc. The crack started at the bottom about halfway just under moulding and spread slowly across whole windshield. It was a soundscreen windshield.

Far to many of these windshields break shortly after owners take possession of their trucks....coincidence or rock chips...I think not.
