Thanks for the postive remarks.....Here are two more pics, hope they help. Get under your truck and look. With the tow hooks & rear airdam removed the frame is flat. Six holes drilled in a 36"x8"x??"(whatever thickness you think, mine is 1/2") reuse the bolts you took out to mount to frame. If you want to reinstall the airdam you might have to get longer bolts.

I used a 36"x8"x1/2" steel plate(1/2" is all I had) it is mounted to the frame using the tow hook bolts and the airdam bolts. I did not want to raise the winch so I cut a notch in the bumper. Mounting the roller fairlead is your choice, can be done many different ways. I welded mine from the plate. I used a flip-down plate holder from a junk yard car to flip-up my plate as needed. If you have the right tools it is a simple job. Drilling the six holes in plate(correctly) is the hardest part. I hope this helps anyone that may want a winch on there 2010 F150.
Did you have to cut the bumper because winch sat too low on plate? How exactly did you weld the fairlead to plate? Did you gusset it some way? There can be ALOT of vertical or horizontal pressure on the fairlead sometimes.

Thank You For Your Help,
Brian

Yes the winch is alittle low on the plate. I welded a small plate to the front of the main plate and notched out bumped. The fairlead sits on the small plate (welded) with round stock welded from the top of fairlead(each side) angled down to main plate an welded. Like I said, it can be done many different ways. I only use a winch when I have no other way out, if there happens to be so much pressure on the fairlead to bend it, so be it I'll do some rewelding. Do some looking, you could also mount a plate across the front to metal tabs on the truck (behind thebumper) with proper cut out an mount the fairled straight to it. The fairlead would set further back into the truck.

Nice. I just bought a 3000lb Viper Max for my quad. They are supposed to be really good.

Guys, check out the Westin t maxx winch tray. You can get them on amazon for $185 delivered. They bolt straight to the frame.

There is a front mount reciver hitch out in the shop just waiting to go on. Sportsmanguide has a winch mount that plugs into the reciever. This way it can be used on either end. I hope.

I've thought about this but 10k lb winches aren't exactly easy to schlep around. And it also sticks way out of the front as opposed to flush mount. So by the time you haul it out of your bed, around the front of your truck through whatever compromising terrain that caused you to get stuck, it might not fit on the front anyway.

My buddy had that setup on his 3/4 ton. Granted, it was a 12k winch, but it took two of us to move it when you included the weight of the bracket. -not exactly practical.
