Default Will my 2013 King Ranch ever be a classic?

Weird question I know. I was watching Mecum Auto Actions when the thought came to me. Like in 20 years will folks be paying top dollar for these trucks? Hell, MYFORD "touch" is quirky now, will the parts still be available to make it work? Thoughts??

Thats a good question. I was at my dealer over the weekend and they are restoring a 1967 Ford Ranger they brought up from South Carolina. Gosh, what a beautiful truck. It's going for $12,000 and if I had the extra cash, I would have bought it.

My next truck is going to be a 2014 stripped down regular cab with crank up windows. I have a second car now which is a Ford Escape and I'm sick of all the "tech" in this thing. I'm ready for something very basic without all the screens and features.

I am in the hell no crowd too lol. Sadly, with all of the electronics in cars nowadays, most vehicles are disposable, especially with manufacturers stopping making replacement parts after 7-10 years. We are becoming a throw-away society.

Another nope. On top of the thousands made, it's just not cost effective to try to keep a vehicle on the road forever. Imagine that electric powersteering going out 25 years from now. It'll cost more than the truck will be worth!

The last of the classics were 7.3 Powerstrokes and 5.9 Cummins IMO.

Hi.

If it has the 6.2L engine, it will become a classic. Instantly - in 2015

Not so fast. When the Raptor comes back, and assuming that it will be powered by a 6.2L, your classic will only be a classic gas guzzler...and Obama will probably add a guzzler tax. Just can't win. Find a 2013 Boss 302; it has some potential to be a classic.

Aye, buddy. I'd wager that they won't use the 6.2. It'll be an EcoTooter variant of some type - to complement the lighter weight.

Sadly - the 6.2 will live on only in the SD's.... I could cry....

King Ranch wasn't offered in 6.2. I tried to build one and called some Ford hotline and they confirmed it. I always purchased the biggest engines in my vehicles but the 5.0 surprise me.
