Great points--NOT.

It is Monday.

Coking is not cocaine. It is carbon build up caused by excessive heat. Ford is trying to figure out how to deal with it on the intake valves.

VALID QUESTION: Does anyone here use the Ecoboost for heavy-hauling on a regular basis and have over 100k miles?

KILOFINAL 08-04-2014 02:37 PM

Yeah, we demand proof!! and we want a copy of the accident report as well....

I welcome you to ignore me--especially if you work for Ford in any way...like a dealership.

Do you have a mouse in your pocket? Who is "We." I can get you a claim number, an accident report and VIN numbers for the old and new truck.

You still will not hear me or listen. Therefore, unless you wish to compensate me for wasting my time, a contract that I would happily write, please make no further demands for proof. Try also not to make yourself more than an "I" too.

This is rrskinner posting again and he will be banned again soon.

I really appreciate your reasonable approach and I am really glad you are happy. I just totaled my 5.0 and got the eco. I am unimpressed. The coking is my concern. I am still pissed about the total and feeling forced. This is my work truck and I don't tow. I just feel like Ford did some pretty week engineering.

You should've done your research before you made a purchase.
Now, for whatever reason that you're not happy, you are blaming the truck and the salesmen for tricking you!
Lame excuses.
The Ecoboost is a very popular engine despite the attempts from you and others to discredit.
Go somewhere else and sob!

Thank you for you articulate contribution. If you have nothing further to add, please feel free to refrain from adding anything else.

I think so, or something like that.

Nope....not a mouse in my pocket. My girlfriend says it's more of a python. There's no "I" in TEAM......

BUILT FORD TOUGH.....

Well first Mr. FordForever, you have to understand how your first ever post and thread comes across to those of us that have been here since and before the EB's inception and know quite a bit more and have seen a lot more than you have with respect to this particular engine. If you had come in here and asked questions such as...."I just totalled my 5.0 and got the EB and I don't understand a few things or it feels like there might be issues or I'm scared something might happen" you would have gotten a lot fewer negative responses. Your attitude and angle in your posts will be reflected in how others respond to you. Personal attacks and negative attitude won't get you far on here or any other forum for that matter.

Furthermore, what is your definition of a "heavy hauler" as you put it? Yes it is a half ton truck and in various configurations it can be rated up to 11k lbs. I know of numerous people who use them in construction and not ONE mile has been driven with them without a trailer or piece of equipment attached to it. Not one of these 10 or so people has an issue.

Add to that, my job takes me to various manufacturing, construction, and industrial facilities including power plans and mines all over Texas. Anytime I am on a site and see an EB truck, I make it a point to ask what they do with it, how they use it, how many miles it has, and what they think of it. I have done this hundreds of times and have been met with a resounding love and impressed opinion of the F-150 in general and the EB engine specifically. Many of those trucks have over 100k miles at this point too.

Lastly, I had a 2011 that I drove all over the state and out to Vegas, out to San Diego, Oklahoma numerous times etc and generally just beat the crap out it with work and travel. Drove it 40k miles in under two years and never a blip or a single issue to speak of. My 2013 that I bought almost exactly a year ago already has almost 20k miles on it and has had one faulty gasket that was just replaced under warranty last Friday. That's my only issue with either truck that I've had.

There are always going to be vehicles that don't live up to whatever expectation someone has or what someone thinks it should be. Perhaps your expectations, whatever they were, were too high and that's the reason for the let down? Or maybe, just maybe, you should clarify what your expectations were and how they aren't or haven't been met yet and there may be things that folks like myself that have been around here awhile could explain or help you understand. However, the approach and attitude you have taken with members in this thread thus far will make all of us either just ignore you or cause the confrontation you have already experienced :)
