My 2011 white platinum lariat was t boned a week after I got it. Two driver side doors and a front quater panel. Waiting to get it back from the shop tidy or tomorrow. Anxious to see how they matched the paint. If it's not the same as my week old brand new paint job on the other side of the truck, were gonna have problems.

I've got the White Platinum Tri-Coat metallic whatever the hell it is on my '09 Platinum. Looks really nice. Chips like any other paint though. I need to get the bumper redone then some kind of clear cover put on it.

Technically it should.

You are adding more layers between the envioroment and the sheet metal.

I dont know specifics, but Ford calls is tri coat. Tri to me means 3 coats. It really is beautifull to look at. I have said it many times, if i could get it in an FX4 i would pay for it in a heartbeat.

Go look at the plain white and Tri-coat white in person is night and day.

But it won't.

It will chip and scratch just like any other water based paint.

I have a 2011 Fusion Sport in White Platinum Tri-coat. I bought it last September and so far, no chips yet. I'm not going to hold my breat as I know it's just a matter of time. It is beautiful though and I wish my truck was this color also.

Here's a quick pic. It doesn't do it justice.

My buddy has an escalade hybrid with the white GM tricoat, it's horrible. In certain light, every panel looks different.

My Nissan GT-R has the $3000 super silver paint. Hand buffed, my ***. Looks like silver paint to me.
