Why no DRL on my 2014 F150 with Factory HID

Why no DRL on my 2014 F150 with Factory HID
I have a 2014 F150 Lariat with factory HID headlights. It has the auto setting on the headlight selector switch which turns the lights on when it gets dark, but I have no daytime running lights. On my previous 2005 FX4 the same setting turned on the DRLs. Can the HIDs be programmed to turned on DRLs or am I missing something?
Another question: I also put LEDs in the front parking lamps and have rapid blinking now for turn signals. I know I need some type of voltage regulator but don't know what is called or where to get one. Any help with either issue is much appreciated! Thank You

They are not required in the USA, so they would not be turned on for a truck staying here. Canada requires them, so they should be turned on if destined for Canada. Or, this can be changed with Forscan or by a dealer. LEDs require resistors to not hyperflash. HIDs aren't great for DRLs, recommend either the parking lights or fogs for this. I'm surprised you didn't see any sort of comment about LEDs when you purchased them, even the crap companies tend to try to sell you resistors along with the bulbs. I think you need to continue some research, there are a lot of choices for lighting.

Changed my foglamp bulbs to LED and used FORScan to enable them as DRLs. I figured this gives me a little bit more of a chance to be seen by the clueless jackasses consumed with using their cellphones.

HIDs cannot be run at a "low" setting like an incandescent lamp. They are on or off. If they used them as DRLs as well as night lighting, the lifetime of the lamp would become an issue. They are only rated for around 3000 hours. Given it's $75~$100 each for a new lamp, people would not accept replacing them every 2 years. So that's why DRLs using the headlamps is not an option on the 13-14 trucks with HIDs. I believe the 13-14 Canadian trucks did not get HIDs for that very reason. Correct me if I'm wrong Canucks.

You could get WHAT with HIDs? Canadian trucks? So did they run the headlights all the time, or did the turn signals count as DRLs?
I know turning on DRLs in Forscan uses the turn signals as HIDs, hence my post of exactly WHY they don't use the HIDs as DRLs in response the OPs question.

You can download ForScan and turn on the DRL on either the turn signals or the fog lights and while you are in there you can disable the bulb out to the front turn signals. I replaced all of mine with LEDs so I turned the back Bulb out off at the same time.
