Ecoboost has problems? My eco-charged FX2 is awesome!! In fact, I've never had an issue with any F150s - through two 100k mile + lariats...4.6l and 5.4l. Normal maintenance items like shocks, brakes...

Maybe it appears that way because the majority of trucks are higher trim levels? Just thinking out loud. I went from an FX to a regular cab STX and the STX has been problem free to far.

I'll agree that the more "stuff" on a truck, the more can go wrong. Plus I think it depends on how well all that "stuff" is treated. I do use my truck more for a car than a truck. But it's good to have it when you need it!

I would go against ^ with him saying majority of the trucks are higher trim models. Ford sells more XLTs than any other model.

My guess is that the higher trim guys are buying the trucks because they like the features of it and want to add to them. The XL/XLT guys are more of a need a truck kinda guy and just use it as that.

Another guess would be and this is no offense to anyone so please nobody take it that way. Is that the XL/XLT guys buy the XL/XLTs because of the cost of the higher end models and cant afford the mods so theres really no reason to be on the forums.

And some people are just people that love to have modified the look of vehicles, like myself, and with that being said they purchase the higher end models due to the look and then since they want to change things they end up on the forums while searching the web for ideas/parts.

Or even the XL/XLT trucks are peoples work trucks and they have other vehicles at home so there isnt a need to be on a forum cause its just there work truck.

I wish I was driving a higher trim level with all the toys, but I needed to direct more disposable income into investments. I ended up with a lower trim level RCSB STX w/3.7L which means I have to roll up/down the windows, I have to use the key to lock/unlock the doors etc.....but that's fine.

Hopefully, it will be less problematic than the Ecoboost FX2 I had before.

0 issues with my Platty or my FX. But I tend to have luck. Both modified and tuned for a lot of the time.

I think maybe they're a bitchier bunch! Unrealistic expectations? who knows...or there's just more of them. I love my truck...no (real) problems in 16 months of ownership. It gets good mileage, runs great, and my dealer is awesome!

Like I said...more Positivity!
