Because ...
.
- they paid < insert EXAGGERATED $ amount here >.
. - it doesn't have every feature/convenience (no matter how trivial) they previously had on their 10 year old POS.
. - it doesn't have every feature/convenience they ABSOLUTELY need/fantasized about/thought should be there/etc., etc., etc..
. - personalize it and complain about MPG, electrical issues, etc., etc., etc..
. - didn't read the owner's manual and think that they shouldn't have to.
. - didn't test-drive or research it BEFORE buying.
. - have unrealistic expectations.
.
etc., etc., etc. the list goes on.
.

Bucketman forgot two words, XL owners can't afford to HAVE TIME to be here.
They are the busy bees of the Ford Fleet and deserve our respect! At least they have mine (I take my hat off)!
Then, why more FX4 and higher trims, because having more gadgets in the truck means more worries, it's a logical impact!
Also I believe they are a majority here, so the scale takes them down easier (lol! Sorry the expression, couldn't hold it).
What does an XLT or an STX have that can break down? Oh! the "crappy" speakers
