Engineers are strange people. They could design something user friendly, but they derive sick amusement from making things as complicated and bass-ackwards as possible.

How does one f-up an oil change that it needs to get fixed? Top of my head I'd think over-tightened plug but what else?

could over tighten the oil filter, Or forget to put oil back in. but you forget to do that you probably shouldn't be working on a truck anyway. lol

I've heard of places like jiffy lube stripping the oil plug?....but either than that?....I think forgetting to put oil back in would do it!

Just buy a fumoto valve with a nipple on it and attach a drain hose. Simple and saves a little bit of time
