Default FX4 running boards

Whats the deal with the running boards tucked so far under the rocker panels? They are almost....almost useless.

I feel the same way about my STX boards. I want some Raptor style ones.

you just have to turn your foot sideways a little. i wear 11 EEE so maybe it just the way i step on them but they work for me. if i have on my hunting boots can not get much of a hold on them. some forums have made drop brackets, do a search and you will see them.

Yea but one shouldn't have to think when stepping out of their truck to be sure you get a grip on the board.

Agreed that's why I made some extension brackets out of Simpson strong ties from home depot and now I have no problem plus adds a Lil more protection from other cars doors

Yes, I totally agree, my running boards on my 2011 Lariat were a lot more user friendly than the ones on my FX4. This winter was a bitch getting out, I almost slipped off them a few times.

I agree, they don't stick out far enough. Plus, I have pulled out the lower seal three times getting in or out, since there is not enough foot space.

I've never even considered the fact that my running boards are "too far in". I think they are perfect. Good looking, functional, etc. Guess I'm the odd man out here ...
