Who Trashed My Raptor?!?!

Yes, the border patrol needs tools to accomplish its mission and I'd much rather them be in a $50,000 Raptor than a $100,000+ Humvee, but the fact is that the government is in a dedicit and at my branch we are continuosly downgrading equipment so its odd to see them buying a "fleet of raptors" when a regular f150 would probably suffice.
Enough griping though. I want to see them running the trails with these at 100 lol

It's actually cheaper to buy the Raptor. Most of Border Patrol vehicles get lift kits, racing shocks and bigger tires. A stock 4x4 won't last a day out in the desert when pursuing a vehicle loaded with contraband.

They actually have a tough job more so than me I dare to say. The people they deal with usually have nothing to lose or the threat of the cartel on their back. They've showed us a website here at work where the cartel posts videos of caught employees... Let's just say don't eat before watching,

not a border patrol vehicle
this is not a border patrol vehicle... no markings etc.... This is most likely a recovered stoke vehicle... these are stolen to run drugs and people across the border frequently here in AZ. make me sick... need a GPS on all trucks to enact some marshal law! haha

additionally...
the typical stolen vehicle is stock and they run them all out in the desert... You would need a high performance vehicle on the chase... If you look at the cost of one raptor compared to the cost of the illegals it will catch in it's lifetime... the raptor is well worth the money... hell throw in some offroad bentleys! haha

My guess is that this vehicle is a drug seizure/forfeiture. Generally any vehicle used to commit drug related felonies can be eligible for government seizure. I tow for the local PD here, and they seize vehicles all the time involved in drug felonies. They would either use the vehicle themselves, or just auction it and keep the money to buy equipment, vehicles, etc.

Border patrol does have Raptors and some LS1 powered dune buggies. Pretty nice equipment.
