Who is towing a travel trailer with their 5.0?

I'm thinking his bars are "bent" because of the amount of weight being transfered, and not just the head angled incorrectly. Usually, the primary purpose of angling the head with washers is to adjust the amount of weight being transferred, and not to level the bars. Any " unlevelling" of the bars will also lesson ( or tighten) the amount of weight being transferred to the front axle.
I personally wouldn't worry about level bars. As long as your measurements are within spec on the front axle is the most important thing.

OK I'm with you.
So even though my front end is raised 2" by the leveling kit. As long as its within the spec on the directions? (Can't remember the spec right now, I want to say its within 1" of unloaded heghth)
So that brings us to my other question......an unleveled truck would sit level with a little trailer tongue weight...right. So since my truck IS leveled should I back the tension down some and let the rear of the truck sag a little more? Since this would be normal on a non-leveled truck. It just looks really off to me, but I know that's what the factory rake is for. Thanks for all the help guys

The most important thing, is making sure your front end comes back down to at least half the distance as hitched without WDH. Ex: unhitched = 40. Hitched without WDH = 42. Hitched with WDH should bring the front measurement back down between 40 and 41.
Trailer level, and front measurement is really the only important numbers.

That's exactly what can kill people, unloading the front end and lightening up the steering. Most of the time we'll get away with it, but then there will be that worst case scenario: going uphill on a wet or snowy surface...or some such.
That's when we'll lose control of the rig. ( This actually happened to a friend of mine. Not pretty. He ended up going straight instead of turning. )
I'd worry more about front end lift.

This is my set up. The truck handles is fine, I just got back from a vacation in the mountains of BC. I do lock out 6 unless I am on flat ground, and it's not always the first to the top of the hill, but the truck never felt overwhelmed. I average 9.5mpg, and the truck pulled most grades near the speed limit with power to spare. On the extreme hills like 9 mile hill near Hope BC I kept it to 60kmph because we are going through a heat wave. I like the mpg I get with 3.55.

OK fellas I think I finally got it ironed out with you guys s help of course. I added one more spacer washer to the receiver head and moved the trailer tongue brackets down one hole and the trailer is completely level. I'm sagging 1.5" in the back of the truck and only up .25" in the front compared to completely unloaded.

Yes sir. Thanks for all you guys help. About the only thing I was missing is a cooler and a couple small kids and my wife. Tools and all stay in the bed of the truck at all times and the cooler can ride in the camper. And maybe the kids if they don't act right. Lol
