That's funny I was leaning towards the ruby red before pulling the trigger on silver! Sounds like we have similar tastes. I have the 6.5 bed also and max tow package.

Five-0 Ret.
Hey, mee-too brother!!
I am going to be full-steam ahead on a new 2013 Eco-Boost FX4; and aiming for delivery in early to mid December!!
I am torn between the White or the Black!!??
I love both colors in the FX model, but think the White will be more practical for the summer heat of the area of Riverside County I am now residing in. But damn, I sure do love the look of a Black FX4!!
I will have to factory order, as nearly all the dealers down here in SoCal order mostly FX2's and even the few FX4's have the 20" wheels and not the 18's which I want.
I will most likely do the drive (90 mins.) up to L.A. County and go to Galpin Ford--World's Largest Ford Dealer--as I am promised $250.00 over dealer invoice. The local dealer in my city does not have a good 'rep' for doing deals.
While U.S. automakers announced Tuesday that sales were up 11 percent last year, Galpin Ford celebrated its long reign as the No. 1 Ford dealer--21 years in a row--As the Los Angeles economy languished last year, the North Hills dealer sold 5,010 cars - a 32 percent leap over 2009 - and more than any other dealer in the country...That's 500 more Fords than No.2 dealer, in Nebraska, and nearly 900 more than the No. 3 dealer in Detroit....No other California dealer even came close. {L.A. Daily News. 2010.}

Order#7011, which certainly doesn't seem like one of the first ones, so I would imagine that quite a few other people have their VINs already, but I'm just guessing. If memory serves me correctly (I ordered a Mustang a few years ago, but things may have changed since then), the VIN doesn't mean that the car has been built yet, just that is has been assigned a VIN. With that, however, I'm pretty sure I will be able to pull up the online window sticker and track my truck's build and delivery progress. Also, I think that the online window sticker tells me the date that it will be built as well. Maybe someone who has ordered a truck more recently can correct me if I'm wrong or provide more insight.

Order #6053
No Vin Yet.
I live close to Dearborn.
So when I get my build date, I might take the factory tour and see
if I can find it being built. If it being built in Dearborn.
