Love my 3.7 but is in my Edge Sport. Great power and paddle shifters to boot!
I probably would have considered it but wanted the FX4 and it is not available with the 3.7!

I own an Ecoboost and the power is impressive (even compared to the 12 Hemi Ram I traded in on it) as well as the gas mileage.
At work we have a brand new 2013 F150 2wd with the 3.7, I had to take a look under the hood to make sure it wasn't a V8 after driving it the first time...lots of power, although it will downshift going up hill.

I love the 3.7... I've had no issues with mine, and as far as under powered? Only compared to the Eco boost. Next to a 5.0, there's not much difference, a friend has the 5.0 and sure he takes me off the line, but that's about it... He doesn't get far away from me. As for towing, I towed a Chev truck over 350 kilometers and I burned just over a 1/4 tank of gas. I currently am at 35000 kilometers and the only things I've done is oil changes, you won't regret the 3.7...it's a great engine
No kidding. 300 hp can tow a lot of weight. Only the Luddites who are afraid of rpms have issues with the 3.7L

I can't remember reading any 3.7 issues. When I buy a new truck (soonish) I'm going to retire the 5.4 down to work horse only duty and pick up a 3.7 for the mileage with the benefits of a truck

lots of solid input, affirms my decision. I really like how it accelerates at highway speed. Going from 60 mph to 80 mph is something I never experienced in the old truck. That was slow going comparatively.

Add me to the list of being a happy owner of the 3.7 --- It suits my needs perfectly. Besides, I don't mind spending less time and money at the gas pumps.
Any of the posters that say it's underpowerd aren't driving them ---- so how can they objectively comment?

The truck I got isn't available in the 3.7 so I didn't really look at them but they are really close in power to my old 3v 4.6 (little more HP but not as much torque) & wasn't really unhappy with it other than the scab rear doors turning into a pain for the kids & in town mpg not very good.

Overall you'll be hard pressed to see a difference in unloaded performance with the 3.7 vs the 5.4. The 3.7 revs more, but has much better throttle response, and the mileage difference is substantial.
