Where's my 36-Gallon tank?
Hi all, new owner here and I'm having a problem with my recently purchased 13' SCREW Ecoboost with Max-tow package. The window sticker says "36 GALLON FUEL TANK" however at my first fill-up today it only took 25.8 gallons as if the truck actually has the standard size 26 gallon tank! Coincidently before the fill I had ran the tank to just about empty not paying attention to the gauge and was alerted by the low fuel alarm. At the time of the fill up the fuel economy gauge said 20-miles until empty. Here's the weird part, when I bought it the dealer filled the tank and before departing the lot I reset both trip meters. Later at my first fill up the trip meter only logged 339 miles and the avg MPG shown was 13.5. After I filled the tank (w/25.8 gal) it said I have 486 miles until next fill up which isn't accurate as I only made it 339 miles on the first tank. This seems to imply the computer is calibrated for the 36 gallon tank (486miles / 13.5mpg = 36gallon) even though when the gauge reads empty it only takes 26 gallons to fill it. What is going on here? Is it possible to only have a 26 gallon standard tank even though the sticker and computer are calibrated to the optional 36 gallon tank?
Here's a snip of my window sticker:

I didn't think EB's had an option for the 36 gallon, so I would guess the sticker was simply mistaken.
As for the computer, sometimes I fill up and my range is in the high 600's, sometimes low 500's but my mpg is almost always steady(I have the 36 gal). I think the computer just takes a little driving to figure it out.

I know it takes several cycles to calibrate so maybe it just hasn't calibrated itself but that seems way off.

The 2011 Ecos didn't have the 36 gallon tank, but that changed in 2012.

I have the 36 gal tank on my 12 EB and when I run it down to 0 DTE, I have about 1.5 to 2 gallons left and put 33 to 34 in.
I doubt they installed the wrong size tank on the truck, maybe they put wrong window sticker? If you have the Max Tow package though, that's what I "think" causes you to have the 36 gallon tank though over the 26.
