Default Where Silverado's are actually better

Here is my only gripe with the F-150's: with Silverado's the low end models come with the automatic 4 wheel drive mode whereas with the Ford's , you have to buy the Platinum or the Lariat. Like seriously? My 52,000 dollar FX4 just DOESN'T have it? Gotta spend 60 grand to get that feature? That's the only thing I find absolutely ridiculous, and for anyone else living in the midwest or anywhere else where you get lots of snow and ice I'm sure would agree with me!
Sorry Ford but that should be offered in the XLT's and up!

I wish you could still get manual hubs and a lever in the floor...

I live in MN/WI area. Never comes out of 2wd unless I get stuck. This is only my 2nd 4wd vehicle though, every truck before was 2wd.

Biggest problem is ice/hard pack snow/black ice. When the highway's have patches of that stuff you aren't able to just quick throw it into 4X4....it's too late at that point

I never felt the need for auto 4x4, although a lot of people like that feature. I've been driving in snow for over 30 years and can tell if I need it in 4x4 or not.

I think 4x4 auto is a waste, I don't have it, and I would never use it if I did.
I still have my wits about me at this age.

What I find unreal is the fact that GM still won't offer a LOCKING DIFF.

That was part reason I jumped ship.

Have no need for auto 4wd its too hard to the truck, locking and unlocking the front driveline every time you get wheel slip. If I want 4wd I put it in 4wd 100%

I love the auto 4x4. Used it all winter. Barely knew it was on.
