Default Where does the front plate go?

I just picked up my 2011 HD F150 and it doesn't have a front plate bracket.

The salesman almost zipped a few screws through the bumper cover before I told him I'd wait for the part to some in.

Does anyone know where it goes?

Yeah it goes in the dead center of the bumper - there's little holes in the bumper for it already - you should be able to see them but they are obviously for a bracket and not the plate.

Very surprising it didnt' have a front bracket - Ford always supplies a front bracket for a vehicle going to one of the "two license plate" states. It should actually be in the truck somewhere.

The only exception is on the Ecoboost equipped trucks where it goes off to the left side over the black pad in the bumper and comes pre-installed.

We looked and couldn't find it.

Under the back seats, in the bed... nowhere.

The plate screws right to the bumper?!? No bracket??? I'm afraid to do that.

Mine wasn't screwed in, there are no holes in the bumper. It is a bracket that goes in the void in the lower bumper

Yeah, there are two dimples where the plate goes. I got a bracket with my HD, but I don't think it fits the HD bumper. Might have to revisit the issue....

There will be two dimples where the screws go to mount the bracket. If no dimples, the bracket is formed to fit the bumper enough that there is only a certain spot it fits right. And no, unless ordered specifically with a bracket no vehicle just comes with one, its separate. Not all states require a front plate.

When mine popped off the other day, it looks like its just sat in the gap in the middle of the bumper with some clips. No screws that I saw. According to the repair shop, its a $15 part.

Keep in mind, he doesn't have the gaping hole in the front of his bumper because its a Harley Davidson (HD). The HD has a different front bumper, so I'd listen to cdh7917 if I had an HD.

This is right on my parts screen when i look up licence brackets for a f150." Black, Ford Doesn't Offer A Front License Plate Bracket For The Harley Or Limited Front Bumper, You Have To Drill Holes In The Cover To Mount A Front License Plate" kinda stupid if you ask me. you spend 45000 on a truck and have to screw it to the bumper
