I try to keep it to around 1/4 tank or whatever will keep the total under $100 so I don't have to run my card twice

Typically 1/4 tank. But during the winter I try to keep at least 1/2 a tank. As mentioned already, it's no fun running out in a snow storm.

¼ Because fuel is the coolant for the in-tank pump, letting it go too low is not beneficial for a very expensive and difficult to replace item.

That's what they taught me at Ford school anyway and it makes sense so I go with it.

Its $2.75 where I am.

I have an app that tracks gas prices, and if the prices are falling I fill up on E to get the cheapest price. If they are rising, I fill up the day of the first increase to full no matter what I have left and then let it go to E.

Simply I play the gas price game haha

Try to fill up before they raise the price 30 cents a gallon. If they have jacked up the price, I just wait until it comes back down. Could probably get about 3 weeks out of a tank.

I go down to E, but go before I get the ding low fuel warning. $100 to fill up at Sam's Club.

Being a guy who deals with pumps on a daily basis (refinery operator), I never thought about cooling and cavitation (really not cavitation but more or less keeping a good head pressure.)

I usually fill up from 1/2 to 1/4. Whatever the prices are really, I don't like having to do multiple transactions on one fill up. I'm not really worried about the hit, it's like buying toilet paper.... I need it.

Is the fuel pump in the tank on all late model F-150s?
