Default when did you change brakes?

I have a 13 F150 XLT offroad 5.0 with 28k miles on it and getting a shuddering feel from the steering while braking. Figuring on brake pads. How fast do they go?

2011 F150 CrewCab 4x4 Ecoboost. I have original brakes at 105,000 miles. Pads are getting close. My problem would be the cracked block it is currently in the shop for.

My first F-150 EB, a 2011 FX2, I bought new and drove to almost 50k miles before I traded it in. I didn't have any shaking or any issues associated with brakes in that truck. Never even replaced the factory tires.

My current 2013 2WD Platinum EB, also bought new, has 34k miles now in just under 2 years of ownership. I starting getting steering wheel shake at about 25k miles and I replaced the front brakes with a full Hawk setup about 1000 miles ago. Immensely better than stock.

First Ecoboost was a 2011 XLT 2WD...traded in at 40,000 miles and no brake issues.

2012 Ecoboost 4x4 and the front brakes need changing now at 44,000 miles ... but we have towed a 7400# trailer about 2500 miles so I am ok with it.

Wow, that sucks. Was it the condensation thing?

That's a lot of miles on the factory brakes. Do you have a long drive to work or a lot of highway driving?

Hope they get you fixed up and back on the road.

Shuddering typically means rotors, not necessarily pads, although most likely it's both.

Brake life is considerably dependent on the driver and the conditions. My brakes on my 13 Screw with 29k miles are still good.

I'm not sure what caused the engine failure. I do know it will cost around $7500 for a Ford reman motor. However, it will come with a 3 year/unlimited mile warranty. I put around 30-40 thousand a year, so I will actually have better than factory warranty on this one.

As far as brakes, I am in sales and drive quite a bit of highway..probably 75%. I also drive fairly conservative. That was until I bought a tuner and within 2000 miles of that blew the motor. No more tuners for this guy!

2014 STX SCREW - I just put new pads and rotors on the front - 65,000 miles

I do outside sales, lots of highway miles mixed with a fair amount of country/gravel roads. No straight roads, lots of braking for curves.

116000 miles or 186300kms. Still on original brakes.
