Default Wheels/tires expensive and hard to decide

Why are wheels and tires so darn expensive and why is it so hard to decide on a combination? I like the Raptor style and have had the BFG's on past vehicles and like them. But then something says to pick something else and that turns out to be crazy expensive.

Tires - all season, all terrain, stock size, plus a little, go big...
Wheels - color, offset, backspace, finish....
Level it, lift it, something in the middle...

You think that's expensive, try having a 16yo daughter.

It took me a while also before I found everything I wanted. I paid about $2200 which is the most I have ever paid for rims and tires on any vehicle. I know this is the 09-14 but here is the style I went with. Happy Hunting!

HAHA...she would KILL ME! I never mess with my wife's shoes or purses. This was a bag I put my cleaning supplies in that I won at Mustang Car Show.

If you like Raptor style wheels, try OE Wheels LLC. I got a set of 4 perfect new pull-offs for $123 each. You may have to keep checking back as the inventory constantly changes.
-- I just looked, they currently have them in stock for $153 each.

I kept stockers and bought only tires. Cost me $1300 US ($1800 Can) for coopers in a 305/55r20. Met your criteria, all terrain, a little larger than stock.

What befuddles me is how some tires that are just one size larger can nearly double in price. A 275/65/18 can be $140 but then the 285/65/18 is $260 WTH?

At least the wheels are a one time purchase, unless you have that extra X chromosome that warps the brain housing group causing those with XX chromosomes to make decisions based on emotion instead of logic and rational leading to the afflicted to constantly change their mind, never be satisfied, and purchase things because they are cute.

I installed Ultra Maverick wheels (20"x9" with 30mm offset) and 275/60r20 (33") Goodyear Duratracs because they are really good tires IME (2nd set). Found the rims on Amazon. They were fairly inexpensive compared to others.
