Default Wheel & Tire Size

I have a 2010 Platinum and the scorpions are ready to go. I want a slightly taller, wider tire and possibly new wheels. I thought about going to 18", for availability and a wider variety. I like Nitto Terra Grapplers, but am willing to consider others. I was not planning on a lift, but if I need a leveling kit, let me know. I've had many 4x4's over the last 35 years, but want to make sure I get it right on such a nice truck as this. Any suggestions welcome.

You can go with a 285x65x18 which is close to a 33 inch tire and will fit at stock height or a 305x65x18 which s close to a 34 inch tire if the truck is leveled. These tires will fit on stock Ford wheel's or aftermarket ones with close to stock specs. A 18x8.5 with 5.5 inches of backspacing would work great. These would stick out about 1 inch more then the stock wheel's.

Save yourself some cash and just replace the tires. 305/55 or 285/60 or 275/65 would look good.

Default Did not save $

I went with a leveling kit, Moto Metal 961 wheels on 275/65-20 Toyo AT tires. I know, worthless post without photos. I'll get a shot on later tonight.

Stuck with 20's I see, they ought to look good. (34x11) and Toyo AT's are almost the same as Nitto Terra's.

Yes, and glad I did. The 34" tires fit great, no rubbing, and fill the wheel wells perfectly with just enough margin. Ride is factory, and these tires are actually as quiet as the Scorpions. Cornering and handling at 55-65 MPH is excellent with no apparent drift or float sensation. I like the fact that the offset I have keeps the tires tucked in properly under the fenders. My Platy is a light charcoal gray and the black wheels look great. Too dark for photos tonight, but will get a few tomorrow.
