Default Wheel Spacers

I would like to have a little more clearance between the control arm and my tire, is 1/2" too much for a wheel spacer on stock rims?

Or should spacers be used at all?

Please dont flame me for asking.... lol

Loose spacers are not really a good idea but a wheel adapter is just fine. However, this 1/2 inch can not be done with an adapter. I believe the smallest is a 1.5" adpater. The adapter is actually bolted to the original studs and then has pressed in studs for the wheels to bolt to. Those are very safe and I have run several sets on my Trans Am/Camaro's. Hope this helps.
