Setting the cruise control around 70ish on the highway my work truck is usually at 21-22, my truck is in between 18.5-19.5 easily, and my wife's SUV is in around 24-25 mpg(the 7 speed really helps out here). The numbers I posted above are average mpg with city and hwy combined. The problem with me in my truck is I don't like to drive 70 and I don't like to to baby it. I like my power and to hear the turbos sing and am willing to pay for it at the pump. Also, in Texas, the highway speed limit is 75 mph and I usually do over that by about 3 mph or so in both my company and my personal truck.

Know what you mean. Last trip I took through Texas.. Dallas to El Paso, I averaged 19.5 running About 75 in my 2012 XLT scab, 4x4 with 3.55's.

I also don't baby it and get combined hwy and city about 17.5. That's with on post driving maxed at 35 mph and lots of stop and go.

Did you mean '02 because they didn't make a 5.4L for the F-150 in 92?

2013 F150 Lariat 4x4 ECO-SCrew w/6.5' bed, HD paylaod & Max tow 3.73 gears. This past Saturday we took a short trip about 150 mi each way all highway. At 65 mph I avg. 22.0 mpg, at 60 mph I avg. 22.4 mpg and in town I have been averaging 17.3 mpg. Just short of 1,000 miles on the truck.

I am more then pleased, I came from a 2004 Nissan Titan LE CREW avg. 12.5 mpg and once with a tail wind I think I hit 16.2 mpg. I don't think it could hit 22 mpg going over a cliff !!!

Yeah, its only a modest fuel increase, but having come from an '03 myself (assuming you meant the '02 from you sig.) I'm exstatic about the 2-5 mpg milage increase I got since it also came with around 100 more horsepower. At 70 on the Interstate I can get 20-21 all day in any weather, then if Im on a 2 lane I can hit the pedal and go from 60-85 in no time to pass. With my old truck I had to drop back and get a running start to pass anyone on a 2 lane, not the case with my new one.

The new vs old engines is all kinda give and take, and personally I VERY happy with what I got in the engine in my new truck.

2011 supercab Eco, 3.55 rear, 40000km, levelled on 33's (8ply D load Lt.'s)
Current 14/15 mpg city and 18-20 mpg highway

Winter 12/13 mpg city, and 17/17.5 mpg highway(studded 10 ply E load Lt's 32's)

Ordering a tuner in the morning, should see a bit better mpg soon
