Default Whats underneath the tail gate panel on a f150 platnum

I don't like the tail gate panel on my f150 platnum and I want to take it off but want to make sure there isn't any holes

I actually like the throwback tailgate, but I may be in the minority. Anyway, not sure what's under there, but it's likely bracketing or something to hold the panel on.

Take the panel off the inside of the tail gate and that should show you how the panel is mouned

I believe the panel is held on with adhesive tape. You should be able to take it off like any of the other badges with fishing line and some heat.

There is double sided tape, and spring clips holding it on. The clips are around the perimeter of the panel and close to the Ford emblem. Not sure how many total as all I did was peel back an edge thinking it was only tape holding it on. After seeing the holes that would have to be dealt with, I put new tape on the edge and called it a day.

Here is what I did to my pimp plate after finding out about the holes. I really like this look and am kinda glad the panel is still there.
