Lol. I know there's a lot of fine print and to be honest I haven't checked as to whether or not it covers the HVAC deflectors(and I will). However, I don't care how it gets fixed, as long as it does. I've already showed it to the Service Manager whom I always deal with and he said, let's set up a day and get you taken care of for that. FWIW, I don't know if the springs on my visor having too much slack and allowing the visor light to remain on when it's flipped under is covered under the premium care either, but they fixed that as well as replacing a seat motor for the easy entrance/exit feature. Maybe it was covered under the bumper to bumper warranty, and if that is the case, I'm ok as I'm still under that, by about 3k miles. Plus, the dealership I deal with has always been awesome to me with warranty repairs. Thanks for the heads up though!

Maybe the older vents are better made . The one I'm talking about have two flaps when having to rotate the direction you need to not use the flap or they will break. If you can grab the chrome or black ring depending on which you have that's the better way but they are stiff to turn. If Ford had a small tab or area made to rotate them I think that also could help. I did a quick search and found that breaking these are fairly common now.

I hear ya man! The older style didn't have as much give when you tried to steer the air in a certain direction. Upon taking quick pics for this thread, I realize it definitely isn't my g/f's fault. I discovered the one on my side is busted as well! :-( damnit! Really have to make an Appt. now.

Nice pictures that's it same exact thing, that tiny tab shears off. Next the cheap plastic that holds both together will break. The tab that you show in the picture is the problem. I hear the older ones were better.
Watch I thought they where all the same but they are not two inside are different then two outsides. Ebay guys selling prices seem high then run $ 36 at Ford. Just get the part when I change I just busted out the flaps so I can get a good grip when carefully pulling the old ones out. The new ones just line up the angle and push it that have a metal tab that grabs the sides. Easy to change.

I dunno; my 2004 has them and I have never had any issues at all.

Now the deflector door...that's a different issue...

Ok. So, I had the two vents replaced under warranty. They had to order them and the following week I went back to have then replaced. Then, fast forward to a few days after I get them fixed. I realized that the inside vent was broke, still!! I checked when I got the truck and turned it once and all seemed fine. Until I washed my truck that weekend, I see that not only did they replace my vent with another broken one, but they also scratched the inside of my windshield which has AirBlue 80% tint on it. dde20Luckily the scratch is above my field of vision and doesn't bother me. That vent on the other hand does. So, I took it back in today and they looked at it and were puzzled and assured me that they changed out the vent last time I was there. None the less, they are going to replace the vent again and then I won't even dare to look at the vent as that may cause it to break, lol. Luckily I have a good relationship with the dealer and they are 100% willing to fix these cheap *** vents, again. At no charge.

My 2011's driver's side vent to the right of the steering wheel was broken in the same place as well.

Well out of the new ones I replaced 1 first the Tit then the other piece that holds them together fell apart now shot. The second just the tit so far but sure it to will fall apart soon enough. I target shoot with a guy who has the exact same lariat 2010 as me and he to had replaced vents at 3 times already. He said total 8 vents he went thru since new total cost around $300 wow He's likes to keep his truck in perfect condition. Well at least ford is making Millions on selling these Vent as parts.
My truck is a 2010. I into it for 3 vents but now need to replace two of those so that will be a total of 5 for me. Wish they would come up with a better quality on it annoying.
