Cant remember what they wanted to charge but I refused to pay it as it was fords issue and the noobs at the essex motor plant could pony up the cash.

Interesting that many dealerships do this for free. Granted, this is not the dealership I bought the truck from.

That's a load of horse crap. Ford only dictates warranty pay, they have no say over what the dealer charges otherwise. You were lied to!

Most dealers charge 1hr labor to connect to a computer, labor rates vary by region.

Dealer I worked at was @ $60/hr when I left (10 years ago), just went back for a visit last year and they were up to $80/hr, local dealers around here are $90/hr.

At my dealership it's $100 + tax for the full diag. test ... Basically, they charge you $100 to hook up the machine/computer and let it do it's thing.

For just adjusting some settings for me (ie: adjusting the speedo calibration) they didn't charge me anything. But, if the diag. test showed something that needed to be addressed, and it was not under warranty, they would then have a completely separate set of charges to do THAT work.

Default Shop Supplies

What kills me is Shop Supplies... imagine if Target - or anybody else - tried to pull that stunt.

On my previous Volvo's, the dealership was charging me $4 for "fluid top up". So....basically topping up the washer fluid. I told them not to bother because I could buy a whole jug for less than $4. The service writer just gave me a blank stare.....lol

I don't remember what the one I took my truck to for a free oil change charges. It was ridiculous though. I am wanting to say around a 100 to hook it up. My mechanic is a former Ford mechanic and he is so cheap compared to dealers and even most mechanics. To fix a spark plug that spit out was like 3x cheaper with him than a Ford dealership. Honestly other than warranty work or free oil changes I wouldn't darken the door of a dealership unless I absolutely have to.

just got off the phone with these guys. they were able to replicate the vibration in the front end one time, but have been unable to replicate it again after bringing the tires back down to 35psi. (i think i may have had them at about 37). Certainly feel like I'm being hosed now!

Anyone think it is plausible that a few pounds of air pressure could be causing vibrations during and after braking?

Pad material build up on the rotors? That causes what most people blame warped rotors for....
