What is your stealership's "diagnostic fee"?
Just took my truck in for a few issues this morning:
1. vibration coming from front drivers side suspension/axle during and after braking.
2. bed bouncing on gravel roads (more than it has in the past)
The estimated fee for each issue is $110 if its not something under warranty. I'm on the hook for $220 if nothing is wrong or not covered.
I understand the vibration could take a while to diagnose, but the bed bounce is probably about 15 minutes of checking the bed bolts once its up on the lift to make sure everything is tight.
What are your experiences with diagnostic fees?

well.. test drives & evaluations are free at my ford service. however, service advisor told me that they are required by ford to charge 100 bucks whenever they plug into the trucks computer.

Test drives, diagnostics, etc. are also zero for me, up until they plug into the computer. I had a few things checked out the other day on my truck and after having it all day, I owed them $0. Nothing got fixed but nothing got charged, so hey.

I had my whole front end inspected, brakes pulled apart, etc. for free. I ended up having them change some fluids, so they got something out of it, but diagnostics were $0 for me.
