-SEATBELTS worn the correct way - this is NON-NEGOTIABLE, so don't try and negotiate. My truck should not tell me that you don't have yours on.
-DO NOT SLAM THE DOORS!
-Don't pound the screen on the NAV. It's called a 'touch' screen for a reason.
-Wait until the vehicle is at a complete stop and the vehicle is in PARK. The rear doors will unlock when I get out, so don't reach up and unlock the doors either (thinking about engaging the child lock for this reason).
-Feet off the dash.
-If you make a mess clean it up
-All trash you create leaves when you do
-Fingers off the glass! Dog noses are the exception...and only on long trips or when it's really cold do they ride in the front.
-Don't touch the volume! If you want it louder or quieter, tell me.
-Don't touch the paint. This includes leaning on the side.
-I will load all cargo, luggage, etc. No exceptions. I don't like things to move or rattle...
-I park where I park. We are all capable of walking, unless you have a handicap sticker because you REQUIRE it. If you want me to drop you off at the front door, we can talk about it.
-I'm usually the only one to drive the truck. If your name isn't on the title, don't expect to drive and only if I am present.

You think you can enforce them? Good luck!
I have a Chocolate lab and a Ridge-back as well as two boys. My children sit in the rear seats as well as the dogs. Windows do get licked ..

When i first bought my truck, i was very **** about keeping the truck perfect. As i bought this truck to take snowboarding multiple times a week during snow season with all my friends, i soon came to the realizition that **** happens. I have learned to not sweat the small stuff (minor stains, scratches or mess). My g/f would say im still ****, but after reading some of these posts; i'd say im pretty care free!!! haha

So my rules now are:
1. NO smoking. Cigarettes that is
2. No leaning snowboards or body (shirts w/ buttons/zippers will scratch paint) on truck.

I still park my truck as far away as possible in parking lots. That will NEVER change haha.

I take a libertarian view of trucks - if you bought it as a fancy toy, and want to keep it nice, go for it! If you bought it to earn a living and it gets dirty and doesn't bother you, good for you too!

At the end of the day, it's YOUR property, so treat it how you will. Those of us in this thread that have rules about our trucks, do so because WE know what bothers US, and try to manage the situation with rules.

I treat my truck like a mullet; business up front, party in the back. That is, I bought a Lariat with all the trimmings so I'd be comfortable in my (short) daily commute, but I have a bed cover and bed liner so I can USE the bed to haul whatever! Just don't go loading over the bed sides - the truck is nice and shiny, keep it that way!

Personally, I like a clean truck, and if you see ME doing something with/to it, feel free to do the same. But unlike cigar ash, which hasn't ever burned the inside of any of my vehicles, food, cigarettes, drink, they all stain the carpet and create a big mess.

I detail my truck at home, with my equipment and supplies, so I REALLY don't want to have to take it to a detailer to remove stains and such, so I try to mitigate that.

Knock the dirt off your feet before you get in
Don't touch the glass
Don't put your change, pens, etc. in the coin holders, door pockets, console, etc.
No smoking
Don't put open cups without in the holders. Don't leave empty bottles or trash in the door pockets.
Groceries go in the back on the floor - or in the bed if wet.
DON'T slam the friggin doors.

I have a dead serious question, how do y'all inform your passengers about your rules? I just politely tell someone not to do something if they are breaking one of my "rules". Im always looked at as an butt hole when ever I tell someone not to do something though, generally they don't say anything but you can tell by there looks.

Here are my rules:
1. Don't touch my paint
2. Don't open doors with objects in hands (scratches painted door handles)
3. Don't spill food/drink and take trash
4. Don't slide out on seat and no sharp objects in back pockets(real king ranch leather)
