2013 F-150 Supercrew 5.0L with 3.55 gears, 275-60-20 BFG KO2 tires and a 1.5 Autosprings lift kit. Looking in the future at hauling a travel trailer 27-29 feet long weighing anywhere from 5500-6500 lbs. I dont want to go much higher than that.

Will I have any problem doing this? I dont plan on breaking any KM distances, I will stay within a few hours of home. I figure that I should be able to do this without much difficulty?

You should't have any issues with that. I have the same basic truck, though mine is stock, and tow a 27' TT that weighs 4850 dry / 6200 or so wet. I live at 5500 ft. elevation and tow over 10K mountain passes on occasion. Nothing is flat where I live. I always lock out 6th gear, and usually lock out 5th.

I agree with Sock Puppet.

It all breaks down to locking out the higher gears...6th on flat ground, 5th in hilly areas...ESPECIALLY if you have oversized tires.

Good to know about locking out the gears. Thanks for the info. Figured I should be ok. I dont plan on going on huge trips with it. It would cost a fortune in fuel. Where I live there are several trailer parks within 100-200 kms of here so that should keep us busy for a while!

I tow our 10 ft. popup camper, it hardly challenges the power of the 5.0 with 3.55 gears.

I tow a 22' wakeboat, around 5500lbs. I hit the tow/haul button and lock out 6th gear and it does fine. Will hit 4th occasionally on inclines and 3rd on this one massive hill but that's once in a blue moon and it's a beast of a hill. Otherwise it trucks right along about 2000 rpms in 5th around 65-67 mph.

2012 with 5.0 and 3.55s. Pulls 27ft bunk house great. Getting between 10-11 mpg towing thru the hills. Trailer is about 4700# dry weight

I haven't towed anything large with my 13 5.0/3.55 yet. This weekend I towed a small enclosed trailer 400 miles (about 3800 pounds trailer and cargo) and got 21.1 MPG at 68 MPH, and 19.3 at 75 MPH towing. No down shifts, very happy with this combo. May get a Travel Trailer in the future.

I have a 2102 5.0 screw XLT 4x4 w/3.55s, 1625# payload. I upgraded the tires to load range E.

Pulls my 7500# Jayco Jay Flight just fine. You'll see some RPMs on the hills, dropping to 3rd or 4th gear, doesn't bother me a bit. You'll gain speed going up the hills. I keep my trans temp on the LCD display, I've never seen it go over 208 degrees or so.

I had a lighter trailer when I bought this truck. When I upgraded to the heavier trailer, I planned in trading in on a diesel....turns out I didn't need to

Just towed a 3500 empty weight horse trailer with 3 barrel horses each apx 1,200 pounds 3/4 tank of gas tack two passengers... well with one or two horses it does fine, this weekend it was struggling.

If my math was correct which it probably is not I was about 250 pounds over my rate.. well I could feel it unfortunately
