I need opinions on what you would do with this scratch on your truck? Is it something that I can just hit a few coats of touch up paint with or would you suggest me doing something else?

A red chip would hide better than a white chip.

Agreed! I just didn't know if me getting the touch up paint from Ford would be good enough or anyone around here had some better ideas or thoughts to share.

I have a couple small ones in the edge or my tailgate/bed along the top like that one on my blue flame truck. I was thinking a touch up paint bottle would hide it.

The good thing is that you can't see that from far away at all on my truck. You have to be pretty close and actually looking for it to even notice it, but I'd like to just cover it up for personal reasons since I freakout on things that are wrong or defective, haha!

Thats a $1k scratch. I'd go with the touchup paint. Smooth it out and do it in thin layers and it will blend in. We dont have corvettes we got trucks and trucks get battle scars. Touch it up and roll with it! JMO.

Definitely! I don't expect my truck to be perfect from dings, scratches, or anything else for the life of the truck. If I was expecting that out of the truck, then I should've never got it in the first place and got something that I don't drive in fields with or anything else.

I'm going to go ahead and get the touch up paint from Ford. I see online that they sell the primer, clear coat, and then Race Red all in brush touch up form. Do you think I should get the primer and clear coat or just the Race Red touch up paint?

I think all 3. Touch up only will look like crap and will bubble and chip away. I would do it right, that way it will look its best and you wont even know its there, this way when it is completely done you can use a buffer to blend in sweet and it will take wax well. Getting it smooth before repair is the key to making it look good when your done. I did this kind of repair on bass boat and that had flake, i did it with nail polish, flake and clear coat by the time it was done I had a hard time finding the chipped area, it blended in that well. Good luck with repairs, in the end it will look great and u will be happy with the finish product, plus you'll be expert for the next chip/scratch!

I'll probably try it out and do all 3 just to see how it finishes and I know that it can't be any worse than it is already right now.
