Default What in the world is this noise behind my radio?

this normally only happens when i put my temperature control all the way to the left and it'll stop if i click it two clicks towards the warm side. well now, its stuck on after i did some adjustments to the stock radio to amplier adapter from PAC.

i can't find anything on the internet on this so any help would be appreciated.

i only got 29K miles on it so its warrantied but i would like to know what could be wrong before i take it in so the dealership doesn't try to take me on this one.

please help out! click below to see the video on whats going on!

i forgot to mention, its not the engine because the noise will do it with just the key on and motor off.

ideas? TSB?

I just had this happen to me same noise behind my radio. It happens when I leave me a/c on then turn the truck on or sometimes when I initially turn the a/c on. If anybody know how to fix this or what the exact problem is please lets me know its real annoying.

If it is the blend door actuator it is in the dash and will probably be a PITA. On my wife's escape you had to remove the passenger air bag and part of the dash to get to it. The part wasn't expensive, but if you have somebody do it the labor more than likely will be. Can't tell you exactly how much because before I got it done I ended up trading it off for her C-Max. Good luck.

this is the part that is making noise. i can reach it from the glovebox door and the noise lessens when i press down on it. i took out the radio and it looks like it could be easily changed.

i hope its just this part and the dealer will do it pretty quickly.

ok i had my appointment this morning and i immediately show him the video on my phone and make the noise when i put it to full cold. i showed him the glovebox door what is making noise. and within 15 minutes, it was changed and was inline for the car wash. now i can have the max cool setting and not have a clunking. they replaced it with a new one.

weird thing is they said there is a right and a left but i thought there is only one on a manual adjusting and there is two on a dual climate control system.

can anybody confirm that all have two actuators or not?
