Default What are these things for?

Black nylon straps behind the right and left rear passenger headrests. Didn't see any thing in the owners manual. Don't know how to look it up in the index either..

Actually, yes... they are part of the child restraint system for car seats, as said above.

Ahh that makes sense.. Usually I see some logo with a child seat and an anchor on it. Great to know, as I have my first on the way, due in June!!

Congrats!
You'll also see some metal loops in the "crevice" of the seat & the seat back too to accommodate different type of car seat anchoring too.

Perfect! That's what I thought the other little d ring looking things were for, thanks for clearing that up!

Congrats on the little one.

The straps won't be used for a while as the car seat will be rear facing until they are old and heavy enough for front facing.

Those D rings are nice and make hooking up a breeze. The strap is a secondary anchor with the seatbelt being the primary when forward facing.

Information for those of you who value your child's life....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Child_safety_seat

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isofix

I've seen far too many infants injured or killed because they were not properly restrained...

It give me nightmares....
Please help. Please care.

P.S. most Police Departments (and many Fire Departments) have officers who have been trained in the proper installation and use of infant/child car seats...
If you have ANY questions, these officers will be EXTREMELY HAPPY to help out.

It doesn't take half a brain to snap in 2 anchors from a carseat.
