What should i pay
First let me say hi, my name is mike. I have been a life time Chevy fan and till about 3 months ago that was still true. I sold my 2011 crew cab silverado and got my wife a 2013 Altima 3.5sv and I'm driving her old car, a Mazda cx7, I hate it.
Soi have been looking a f150's for about a month and found that I want an fx4. I am going to a dealer tomorrow to look at a 2012 white fx4 with an msrp of 42655. It has been a demo truck and has 5k miles on it
What kind of deal should I be looking for along with 4k in rebates
Thanks

He is right and just so you know-those cars that are 12K off are truly losing money. 10K off is a very minor profit. I would say that they probably cannot make it a sweet enough deal on the demo vs what you can get a new 12 for. If the car was actually registered as a demo-you dont loose your warranty at all-the warranty miles starts from today-I would personally want at least another $500-$800 for it being a demo though. Offer them $30ish for the demo and maybe 31K for a new one. Just my opinion.

That should be about right. Just know different regions have different incentives and some of the rebates are trade assistance ($1000), ford loyalty, etc. If they can get down 10K and you are not trading that truly is a pretty good deal. There is about 1200ish hold back on a 42K car. So if they did $800 under they are netting about $400. Take it as you will since I work for Ford but that is not making much money on the actual car and they have to pay the saleman, electric bills, etc. Sure they will get Ford money down the road and marketing money, etc but its not much. I will also tell you if you are close and you like the truck to buy it. I can tell you with 100% honesty that most people who do a good job negotiating pay the dealer less profit than you pay the grocery store in one year and you are going to keep the car 3-5 yrs on average just to put it in perspective. $400 profit on a 42K car is .1% profit and most companies cant keep alive with a .1% unless they are doing crazy volumn. Good luck in your search and hopefully you and the dealer come to an agreement.
