0.9% is for suckers!
Top MSRP on mine was $51320, paid $38,305 and I worked all the dealers for over a week. I may been able to get a few bucks off somewhere else, but would have spent it in gas.

David, doesn't matter if your 22 or 52. If you go in with a good knowledge of the process they won't be able to take you to the cleaners. You have already started arming yourself with this thread. Use all the information available to you on the web, be realistic with your offer (the dealers do need to make some profit), and be ready to walk if you can't make the deal. You'll do fine. I'm 59, and still learn something new about the "art of the deal" when I buy a new car. Good luck.
BTW, I live in North Carolina. I contacted Mac Haik in De Soto the other day about a truck. No where around here sells for that price. I can save money even going to Texas to buy.
Also, selling vs trading. Check your tax laws. In North Carolina you pay taxes on the final selling price of the new vehicle. Ex., if I sell my vehicle for $22000 dollars I lose $660 (3%) to taxes on the final sell. If the dealer offers $22000 then I will save that amount as it is subracted from the negotiated price of the new vehicle. Hope I explained that to where you can understand what I saying.
