I came up with this rule... and its not naive, its about legal implications should the chit hit the fan when some d-bag decides to go out and try to find his top speed. "But I saw it on F150Forum that if I tried it......". Sorry, I'm not opening this site up to that.

Mostly though, it came from a fellow staffer who lost a neice to street racing as an innocent passerby. Not that I need to justify a rule that I implement. We make rules as a constantly evolving system based off what we (most of us parents) would deem appropriate for our children (13 years old or greater to join this forum) to be seeing/reading/watching. Different parents have different feelings on what they allow thier kids to do, we're a conservative bunch here and tend to keep our site "PG".

If you don't like it, may I suggest f150online?

Most I've hit is 95mph. Decided to stop there when the fuel economy calculator kept dropping, and dropping.... and dropping.

I did 36 in a 35 once :-). Sorry I had to say it.

But really. Tracks are so accessible today there is no need to race on the street.

How can you possible say this when there is all the arguing and just flat name calling on here? May I suggest you would moderate the non-PG stuff a little better and leave peoples driving habits alone. 60 in a 40 is the same as a 90 in a 70, whats's the difference?

Sorry about the thread hijak.

I don't get what all the fuss is about. We're on a forum provided to us free of charge at others expense, and moderated through the donation of time by people. If they have a few rules (IE: no posts about street racing and boobie pictures) big deal. Is there nothing else that can be discussed besides street racing? If you want that, put a server rack in your basement, run fiber to your house and brush up on your coding skills- then you can talk about anything you want. I'm not trying to be a sell-out, but there's a few rules, so just deal with it and move on. There is no need to have one out of every 10 threads degenerate into this.

I've had my nose swatted a couple of times, you just gotta learn what will get you a swat and avoid it. Sheesh.

I like to think we do a good job of keeping the peace and not coming off as "forum *****" at the same time. Sometimes people like to push buttons....

Lets get this back on track. If its one battle you usually will never win on the Internet, it's a battle of rules with the site admin... Unless you're married.... Then there's a TON of battles you just won't win.
