Default What kind of tar remover do you use?

I have a little tar on the side and back of my truck, I have tried turtle wax bug and tar remover and I personally think it is *****! I might as well be using soap and water to take the tar off. It will take the small spots but doesn't even touch the larger spots Anything that you all use and recommend that wont hurt the clear coat?

Many might cringe, but I have used gasoline on many occasions, and it cleans it off pretty quick. Just have a warm soap and water rinse right ready when you're done, and air out the gas rag appropriately. WD-40 is also a good solvent based cleaner. Again, soap and water rinse when you're done.

Yup, WD-40. When the tar is off put on a bit of spray wax/detailer to protect the paint and you're done.

Try Go-Jo (or other brand) hand cleaner first. Not the kind with grit.
This usually works well for me.
If that doesn't work, then go to WD-40.
I have never had to go beyond WD-40.

Terminator by Stoner is outstanding and will not harm the clear coat.
