Being from Washington, you could have ordered the REI edition like I did.

XLT with Chrome and convenience package, 4x4 with locker, vinyl floor, sat radio, off road package, and side steps (make good seats for changing foot wear).

I may print and affix REI decals and it will be just as official as a "Texas" edition.

Texas Edition has nothing to do with the chrome package, I have a Texas Edition FX2 and there isn't 1 oz of chrome on it.

Texas Edition is no charge running boards, and wheel upgrade.

Interesting, I've never seen a Texas Edition that wasn't chrome package. That is technically still an XLT, though, since the FX2 is an XLT option package.

As for the front license plate bracket, I'm pretty sure there's a difference between the "Texas Edition" license plate bracket and the "Texas Edition" with the emblems. All cars/trucks in Texas are required to have a front license plate, so all of them would have the bracket. Mine does. And it was listed on the sticker as "Texas Edition license plate bracket", but it's not a Texas Edition that has badges.

This is from searching Ford's Website:

"DISCLAIMER: Ford F-150 XLT SuperCab and Ford F-150 XLT SuperCrew with Chrome Package, marked and promoted as “Texas Edition”, are available and sold exclusively in the state of Texas."

I have a Texas\Oklahoma Edition. It is nothing you can specifically purchase. If whatever you choose as options fit then you will get a Texas edition badge. Yes it is an XLT and it has the chrome package. I have seen them in 4 wheel drive as well as two wheel drive. Personally I think it is more of a package deal for the dealers. I think they sell so many trucks down here that Ford tags the most common configurations as a Texas Edition and the dealers go through them by the 100's. Here are my options listed from the window sticker.

I sold the OP my spare TX badges - but to support the notion that this is a dealer package - there doesn't appear to be a traditional placement location for the badges. Sometimes they are low like in the pic above - sometimes they are immediately beneath the F150 logo, sometimes they are on the driver side underneath the F150 logo, sometimes on the passenger side. It's wherever the sales guy put it when they took delivery of a chrome package XLT.

Texans... we love our state. And it's a cool freakin badge. I see it all the time, 50 times a day so I'm desensitied, but I can definitely see it meaning more to a displaced Texan so I'm happy to help the OP out.

Gonna 2nd this.. not saying he's wrong, but i've never seen a TX Ed. that was anything other than an XLT with chrome. Never on a different trim level like an FX2.

I like the placement on the chevy. I see those everyday along with the Fords if not more. If my Texas edition badge was on the side instead of the Ecoboost badge that would be cool.

I figuered it had to do with a cheeleader or something.... Cause when I think of Texas I only think of cheerleaders, I know they have a football team, but who cares...
