What do you think about Ecoboost now?
Remember all of the hype about the Ecoboost?
The Ecoboost has been out now for 3 model years. With the experiences those that have purchased an EB and with the issues along with the disappointments, what are your opinions now about the Ecoboost? This question is intended to only get some input of those that have had firsthand experiences. If you have already had one, would you buy another Ecoboost?

Have owned mine for a solid year now with over 18k miles. Zero issues engine wise. Love it.
If had to do it over again, since I do zero towing, I would probably get the 5.0. Just not getting the gas mileage I expected. It's not that's it's bad, but it's barely better than what most 5.0 guys seem to be getting. (And no, I'm not trying to spark a debate with this. Just purely observation between my Eco and my buddy's 5.0)

I like my ecoboost alot. Has great power. Doesnt get the mileage they claim in will. But its not bad mileage either. I foresee myself getting 19mpg during summer fuel blends.
Reliability for me has been great. Truck pulls amazingly. I would chose it over the 5.0 every day for what i use the engine for. It makes short work of my 7500lb enclosed race trailer than my 5.4l used to labor to pull.

I bought my 2012 XLT SuperCrew with the EcoBoost back in March of last year. I came from several V8 trucks and was a skeptic even though I had done plenty of research and watched plenty of "torture tests".
I love the EcoBoost. I have 15K problem-free miles on the engine. It's my first V6 of any sort, and in the beginning I sure did miss that grumble of the V8s I was so accustomed to. My truck has plenty of power and tows my boat, toy hauler, and cars with no problem. It's quiet and smooth, yet has some *****. I do wish my MPGs were a little better, but I still can't complain.
Truthfully, I would be content in any engine in Ford's lineup. But I do love my EcoBoost and my next truck will have one in it as well. It bums me out when people bash the engine because a small number have had problems. That doesn't speak for all of us.

i'm two years and 52k km's on it now. It's towed 20k + km's and has been very reliable. Still pulls and drives like it did 2 years ago. Overall i'd still buy the Ecoboost over the 5.0 if i had to make the decision over again. I've started modding the truck a bit in the last year or so and it's made me like it overall better outside of the whole Eco/V8 debate.

Boost :)
33k problem free miles in mine and yes I would buy another in a heartbeat. No debate for me whatsoever.
Never been to dealer for any reason, tows with ease, gets almost 22mpg on interstate at 72-74mph, and does it quietly and effortlessly.
Now if only someone could convince ford to put it in the Raptor! :-)

No problems with mine so it's hard to care about other trucks with issues. I mean, I'm not affected yet with 17k miles so I'm not bothered by it. My truck has been great.

6 months out, 10,000 miles, 2000 of which have been hauling 7000lbs, and being my daily driver I can say I LOVE IT!
Zero issues, fantastic fuel mileage compared to my 08 5.4L. What's not to love?
