2012 Sterling Gray SCAB XL
2012 Sterling Gray SCAB XL
RWD
6.5 ft bed
V6 3.7
XLT Chrome Package (Bumpers)
Tow Package
CD Player and Stereo
No flow through with Jump seat. (only regret)
17 inch steel wheels
Gray Cloth Interior and AC
Listed $28,000, out the door $21,000 after rebates and incentives and haggling for 3 days.
After purchase Mods (so far)
$200 -Tint
$167 -Side steps
$150 -2 inch Daystar Leveling kit
$20 -- iPhone mount and cable
$10 -- Repainted F150 emblems and brake calipers
I have a laundry list of Mods I want to do, like new wheels, nav system, etc. I plan on doing all the mods myself, except wheels and tires of course.
I purchased this truck because I want to buy a power boat next year and the 2001 BMW X5's transmission that I had was starting to slip. A brand new transmission was $8000 installed and a rebuilt was $5000 installed. Stupid.
I never want to go back to a foreign car again.
This XL is pretty stock, but it blows away the X5 in power and comfort, and soon it will have the same amenities. I am in love with this truck and cannot believe that I used to look down my nose at it. If Ford keeps paving the path with their truck designs and reliability, they have a customer for life. BMW dropped the ball in 2002 with quality and have been going downhill ever since. My wife has a 2007 BMW 328i and it is a piece of garbage compared to my truck. It cost almost twice as much and I feel it is not even half the vehicle.
Built Ford Tough is right!
