currently thinking about buying a (slightly, 3k miles) used 2013 stx 4x4 with 5.0 for $26k, prices up here in new england just seem to never go down, I found a couple brand new ones close to it in price but the used ones already has windows tinted, bed cover and bed liner, all stuff I would add anyway... kind of offsets any benefits for me

Just picked up our truck this weekend.

2013 silver fx2 stickered at $47900
402a, black package, 3.55 rear, tailgate step, nav, sunroof

Total was $28k otd after trade and $5000 in rebates. Was hoping to be around $27k but we hit the bottom with the dealer during negotiations and loved to truck too much to pass it up. Gotta refi though as we took the rebate over the lower interest rate.

Trade was 2007 frontier loaded. No additional plans or discounts.

You got a great deal, don't wait on the refi! We didn't let the ink dry before we went for the refi since the dealer really screwed me on rate, did not even discuss and I have high 700's FICA.

Great deal!

I just picked up a 2013 F150 XLT crew cab with the 302A package (back up camera, back up sensors, etc), off road package and tailgate step from Fairway Ford in Canfield OH. I got 30% off MSRP and they threw in a drop in bedliner, remote start and soft tri-fold tonneau cover. Was out the door at $31,700. Traded in a 2012 Suburban and got what I wanted in trade, well above KBB. I did have to finance through Ford, and will stay with Ford for 90 days since my salesman was decent with me. But then I'll refinance at my credit union at .9%.

Just got my 2013 XLT 4x4. Traded in a 2010 XLT. Sticker was just shy of 41000 after the 1750 rebate. Nothing down and old truck paid off in trade I financed 29000. Not sure how they moved the numbers around but I feel like I got the deal of the century. KBB had my trade at 16500 so my best guess is I got 13000 off of MSRP. Go now as they really want to put 2014s on the lot and need high margin used trucks.

From what I understand, salesman does not get the kickback on financing, the guy that wrote it all up in the finance department does along with the dealer.

It was very strange to me how the dealers wanted to push 3rd party loans and not FNC. But it is obvious, they get more kickback. Also, another thing to watch for is a dealer that says you are financed, and you are not and you get a nasty letter to return the truck, make full payment or get your own financing.

This is another reason why they give the discounts because they make it up long term on loans. If a 3rd party, they get the initial kick back for the referral and then an amount, I believe for the interest rate.

I would not waste several hundreds of dollars! Refi after your first payment, that's more than enough tip in my mind. After all, the dealer is still making money on your sale!

Ford makes the dealer foot the bill for the financing rebate if the buyer refinances within 90 days. The dealer then puts that hit on the salesman. The total cost to me for waiting to refinance is $160. This was by far my easiest buying experience, I got everything I wanted from the dealer/salesman. So I'll keep my word and wait to refinance.

Never read that anywhere. Have done this with 2 cars as a matter of fact 2 cars from one dealer and same sales person and we would have heard from him, good friends, especially during the sale of the second car.

There is nothing in your contract that prevents you from doing this either.

Nothing at all in the contract that prevents it. But I'll keep my end of the deal, because I had a great buying experience and will probably buy from them again. The $160 that financing with Ford, and staying with them for 90 days, cost me was still well worth the financing rebate.
