What could this sound be?
There is a clicking sound coming from the front of truck. It has 400 miles on it but noticed it when I drove it off the lot new. It doesnt seem to be like the "ticking" sounds ive read about here. Its not there when at idle and I can rev up the engine when stopped and its not there. The sound is like a tapping sound, starts at 20-25mph and gets faster as you speed up.Sound slows down when you slow down. Its almost like something is flapping but ive looked all over and cant find anything loose. Any ideas?

What year model/engine do you have? More details may help w an answer. I have a 12 EB and just asked a tech at my local ford house what the tapping sound was I hear constantly. He opened hood, removed engine shroud and pointed out something to do w the fuel injection management that was just tapping away, only much louder due to hood and shroud being removed. He says it is just a normal sound made by this part. I haven't walked around and listened to other EBs to verify though.

Checked tires and there isnt anything in the treads. The sound is very vague and it seems to be coming from the area way under the dash or in the cowl area. Cant hear it when music on or windows down. Was wondering if anyone else had this issue.

I think that I may have the same "ticking" you are talking about. I took mine into the local dealer and they stated it was the center cap on my driver side front wheel. I laughed and said, it goes louder and faster when accelerating and there shouldn't be any moving parts on the center cap. They said thats what made it go away but now guess what, its back.
