No pix of my bike here... but I crafted this sucker up out of aluminum. Bolts in to the same spots as the factory tie-downs. Holds two bikes now, but could easily add another fork mount for a 3rd bike.
This thing is pretty solid and holds the bikes very well.
It'll be a while yet before we're able to get outside and do any biking in this area though!

Love it!
although I don't want to drill holes in my truck , and my my girlfriend has a Jamis 650b2 with a thru axle, so I'm not sure this setup will work for me and I may be converting to the same.
at the last race I was at there was a f150 with a really simple bike rack made of PVC tubing. he had 3 bikes in back and the the tailgate held the bikes in place. No clamping, no mounting, no front wheel removal, and the PVC tubing can be used outside the truck for a bike rack also.
Nice! My buddy rode a SB66 carbon last (with a retro-fitted 27.5 fork and front wheel) year in the east coast enduro series and nearly won a few events after winning a few stages!
How do you like those Crank Bros Cobalts? I cant make up my mind between those and Mavic Crossmax SLR for my Scott Spark 29r!?!

Here is a link to the thread on my bike mount I made last summer. My bike is a specialized hardrock 29 sport. Not the most expensive but has been a great bike.
The mount is just a fork mount off ebay and 3 self tapping screws.

I personally prefer to use a dakine pad. I can fit six bikes on the tailgate plus whatever gear I need in the bed. As an added plus, the pad only costs $60 and will last the lifetime of your truck! There great for doing DH shutting because of the easy on-off. theres no tie downs, straps, or anything else. just throw it in and go shred!
