What the ......
Are you putting in a window shade? That seemed to be a problem as the window shade would touch the foam and the glue on the foam would stick to the window shade and then when you pulled it out it would pull out that foam. A lot have just pulled it out and not bothered with it.

There is a TSB on this like said before me. My 2010 was doing this. I removed it my self because they have to remove your windshield to clean the area and put new foam back. The problem that was pointed out to me is if the windshield brakes it will be aftermarket and not say F150 on it. Not sure in your case or if you care. Just wanted to tell you what I was told at the time. Best of luck!
My Ford dealer inadvertently broke the windshield on my Taurus and replaced the window at their cost. The windshield they put in was a Carlite piece just like the one that came in it from the factory.
If Ford has to replace an F-150 windshield as a result of this TSB, I'd expect them to replace it with a Carlite windshield, not an aftermarket one.

Correct.
And most reputable auto glass companies carry both OE Carlite as well as the various levels of aftermarket glass.
