Default Dinoc

Started to cover up the Milano Maple from my Lariat with Dinoc to see how it looks and lasts. So far it's been easy as pie. I just gotta work on the steady hand as I cut with the knife. Gonna cover up the door trim with Black Matte, and the center console with Black Carbon Fiber wrap.

Here are two iPhone pix, one with the panel covered, and the other side before being wrapped.

I agree with you to an extent. It is one of the nicest looking woodgrain, not counting BMW or Audi. For a truck it's nice. But it looks like something that should be in my dad's truck. If I could have had my Lariat with the black FX4 trim I would have been in heaven!

More progress. I decided to get ambitious and remove all pieces to do a wrap rather then try to do a precision cut around holes and have the wood grain show at the edges.

It took about 8 hours to do the console, including finding lunch for me and my kids, changing a couple of diapers. Talking to the wife for a bit, entertaining my pre-schooler with his train set. Wrapping the radio piece twice because of the bottom section. And putting it all back together.

In the end, I am glad I took the time to do that. Now to finish with the shifter and front door panels. Just not sure if I should stick with carbon on the shifter or go with Matte.

The whole backing is 3m adhesive. The stuff is awesome. I used a heat gun and just heated the area for about 5 seconds and it's so easy to work with. I'd recommend getting twice as much as you need. That way there is no stress if you mess up or have to re do it once you see how the material conforms to all the groves.

Like I said the hardest part was the lower portion of the center panel, right by the Aux in/ USB port. I'd recommend starting at the bottom and work it in nice and slow...

Oh yeah, just punch in Dinoc in YouTube and there are a bunch of videos that give you tips on how to work with the stuff and how to deal with problem contours and curves.
