Traffic moving at highway speed, then someone a half dozen cars ahead decided to stop. Nobody hurt, thankfully.

A moment of silence as we mourn the passing of this magnificent machine.

That sucks! Glad you're not seriously injured.
This might come in handy when you deal with your insurance.

A little coincidental I was going to start a thread about my friends truck and what the insurance company paid him.
He and I bought almost identical trucks, not on purpose. The only difference between the two is that his was a Crew Cab with 5.5 bed and mine a S-cab with the 6.5 bed.

Now his was a 2013 Oxford white Fx4 Ecoboost with the 402a package, w/ 56,000 miles.
Mine, is a 2014 Oxford white Fx4 5.0 Coyote with the 402a package, w/41,000 miles.

The truck was hit from behind by a loaded 18 wheeler. Destroyed the truck. No question about it being totaled.
His insurance company gave him a check for $40,000 dollars! I saw the check, because I thought he was lying.

Never in a million years would I have guessed that. Maybe $30,000 I thought, but never 40. Really has me thinking about trading mine in now.
Btw, he had no major aftermarket parts.
Doesn't that seem very generous... Or am I just off in their value??

I was hit from behind, totaled, in my 2013 Lariat 502a screw 6.5 with ~40k miles and received $34k. And then they jacked my rates for being hit by an illegal while parked. Not much of a fan of geico, myself.
