Default weird noise

Hey guys I'm curious if anyone is experiencing the same issues I am. When I am driving along and it's cold outside the truck makes a strange groaning noise. Never happens when it's warm and it just started happening the past two or three weeks. Seems to be around 2-3000 rpm. I have a 2011 ecoboost. Everything else seems fine however I have noticed a drop in mpg

The drop in MPG is associated with winter fuel. This is normal

With it being an Eco, I would take a wild guess and say it's the vacuum pump making that noise.

Since you're concerned, gotboost11, I'd recommend bringing this to the attention of your dealership so they can check things out. Let us know what you hear; if you need any assistance after getting a diagnosis, feel free to reach out to me via PM.

Well truck went into dealer today and after having it all day they tell me nothings wrong with it. They say there are no misfire codes and no noises. So they are going to try again on monday. I find it funny that they never find the problem

Well tomorrow will be 2 weeks that my f150 has been in the dealer and so far they say they have no idea what the problem is. At one point they tried saying my intake was causing the problems but I think they figured out it had nothing to do with it. So who knows what's up now. Guess I'll have to wait and see what's happens

Send me your info in a PM, gotboost11; I want to see what I can do to help. In your message, please include your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, mileage, and servicing dealership. I'll get to work.
